Pride AF (Alcohol-Free)
Presented by: The Safer WeHo Coalition, Sponsored by the Institute for Public Strategies
Pride AF (Alcohol-Free): An Alternative Pride Concert will be a day of live music, mocktails, community building, and substance misuse prevention. The day will begin with an hour-long community mixer, which will include free snacks and a mocktail bar with lightly facilitated conversation starters around mental health and partying. The following two hours will consist of a series of live music performances from the music collective Queer Sounds. During the break between sets, members of the Safer WeHo coalition will conduct an overdose awareness and Narcan training. Throughout the event, tables will be available from local nonprofits and service organizations providing resources regarding substance use prevention, harm reduction, safer sex, and mental health. The goal is to create an environment for a fun community concert while simultaneously promoting a safer alternative to traditionally alcohol and drug-focused pride parties.
Free, open to all ages.
